Building Capacity and Diffusing Innovation in
Community Development Higher Education

The 2017 USDA Higher Education Challenge Grant provided a platform for colleagues, engaged in community development higher education from across the United States, to gather and collaborate. As such, the Community Development Higher Education Collaborative was formed. At the Community Development Higher Education Collaborative we:

• Identify core competencies, curriculum and specializations for CDE.

• Explore methods to position CDE to be more relevant to diverse audiences and actors.

• Examine and implement values and critical theories in CDE.

• Examine relationships between community partners and CDE programs.

• Critically evaluate community engagement and participation methods.

• Evaluate the comprehensive impact of CDE.
